Rationale and Primary goals:

Provide maximum sparing of heart and coronary arteries – thus
reducing incidence of severe cardiac morbidity and cardiac death
➢
Reduce integral volume of normal tissue exposure to RT, thus
reducing incidence of Second malignancy.
Secondary Goals:

Proton Therapy permits dose coverage of volumes without
compromise – possibly improved local control ??

Improved Quality of Life
