announces global
collaboration
called Metal Smart
HESS Industries Inc, USA, a global engineering firm and
manufacturer of metal forming machines, cells, and integrated
systems, has formed a collaboration with Repkon, Turkey,
a designer and manufacturer of advanced metal forming
equipment with emphasis on flow forming, shear forming and
hot-spinning technologies.
The strategic alliance of the two companies, named Metal
Smart™, will provide customers with innovative metal forming
solutions worldwide.
“Thinking outside the traditional business model boundaries,
both geographically and technologically, is what brought us
together,” said Roxanne Lauer, CEO of Hess Industries. “We
want to fulfil the goal of finding performance-driven, world-
class technological solutions for our customers regionally and
competitively.”
Metal Smart will offer customers greater resources for metal
forming through the ability to create complete systems utilising
innovative research and development, prototyping and service
and support on a global scale.
Metal Smart provides manufacturing capabilities for a wide
range of industries, beyond the traditional production domains
typically served by either Hess or Repkon individually.
For more than three decades Hess Industries has designed
and manufactured metal forming and welding equipment for
the production of various automotive, white goods and HVAC
components, including wheels, catalytic converters and various
other circular, tubular and sheet metal parts.
Repkon was founded in 1978 with strong engineering/
design capabilities attributable to know-how in flow forming,
shear forming, hot spinning and hydraulic press technologies.
The company has supplied tailored solutions to industries such
as defence, aerospace, oil and gas, pipe, pressurised gas and
automotive.
