A lightweight aluminium body with a strong, stiff structure is the perfect platform for a sports car. We pioneered this technology over a decade

ago and continue to push the boundaries today. It informs every aspect of how F-TYPE performs, handles and feels. A strong, stiff structure provides

an inherently stable platform for precise, agile handling and allows the finely-tuned suspension system to deliver connectivity and driver feedback.

Lightweight aluminium panels are bonded together with a super-strong adhesive, then punched with zinc-coated, boron steel rivets that compress

the adhesive to form an airtight bond for phenomenal strength and rigidity. F-TYPE's body is the perfect complement to its high-performance engine

range. Together they produce the exceptional power-to-weight and torque-to-weight ratios that deliver the real world measures of performance

in a sports car.

The exterior panels are made from specially developed alloys. They combine robustness with greater formability, which gives clarity and tightness to

curves and feature lines. On Coupé models, the side pressing is one of the most technically advanced in the automotive industry. It allows for cleaner

lines with an extraordinarily beautiful, uninterrupted sweep from the front pillar to the trailing edge. This combination of advanced materials and

innovative techniques has two advantages. It allows us to reproduce F-TYPE's crisp, crafted lines exactly as the designers intended. And it delivers

a vehicle with extraordinary structural integrity.
