Blachford Corp

Stand: 09E02

Blachford Corporation is a wire lubricant

and speciality chemical supplier. Based

in the USA and Canada, Blachford has

been supplying the global wire drawing

industry and many of the world’s largest

wire drawing companies since the

1950s with cost e ective, meticulously

researched, and innovative wire drawing

lubricant programmes tailored to the

exacting

technical

speci cations

of

individual wire drawing processes.

When the wire industry needed assistance

to reduce and control dust, Blachford

responded with chemically modi ed

dry drawing lubricants designed to help

address the problem.

Blachford’s low dust dry lubricants reduce

dust creation in multiple ways. They

are more adhesive than standard dry

lubricants and therefore are less likely

to detach from the wire; more exible

than standard dry lubricants and have

a lower tendency to shatter when the

wire bends around pulleys or capstans;

and the feathers are more cohesive than

standard dry lubricants so they have a

lower tendency to break up and become

airborne. All of these attributes have been

designed into Blachford’s low dust dry

lubricants to help its customers meet the

demands of dust control. This is only one

example of Blachford’s capability to create

innovative products that meet the needs

of the overall wire drawing industry.

Boockmann

Engineering

Stand: 09C34

Boockmann Engineering GmbH will

exhibit the new 2016 models of its

Helilub® technology for precision solvent-

free lubrication of magnet wire, and the

2015 models of Helicord® machines for

surface processing of wire and cable, such

as welding wire nishing or removal of

misprints from cable.

The new Helilub models are also suitable

for non-abrasive cleaning applications on

wire of diameters below approximately

0.2mm. Both types of machinery were

recently redesigned to be more robust and

operator-friendly, and will be on display

on the stand. Another exhibit diversifying

Boockmann‘s product range will be its

multi-wire cleaning machine, designed

speci cally for use in multi-wire lines,

where space limitations do not allow using

Helicord machines.

On the material side, Boockmann made

new developments in welding wire

nishing, using fully wax-impregnated

cords with a special separating component,

that prevents accumulations of metal

particles in the liner and contact tip. These

newly developed materials also allow

welding wire nishing at high production

speeds. A demonstration of Boockmann‘s

materials and technology can also be

given at its facility in Bad Bocklet, Germany,

during the weekend and the week

following wire 2016, by prior arrangement.

BWE’s Conform™ continuous extrusion

technology. In 1976, BWE Ltd (formerly

Babcock Wire Equipment) was awarded

the rst and original patent licence

to develop, manufacture and supply

Conform™ machines to the market.

Many of the initial installations are still in

production today, which is testament to

the quality and reliability of the ‘original’

Conform machine and BWE’s on-going
