Established definitions of when treatment required – is this
still the right approach ?
Patients with at least one of the following requiring
initiation of treatment:
–
Bulky disease (nodal or extranodal mass > 7cm)
–
B symptoms
–
Elevated serum LDH (> ULN) or
2-microglobulin (> 3mg/L)
–
Involvement of ≥ 3 nodal sites (each > 3 cm)
–
Symptomatic splenic enlargement, compressive syndrome,
pleural/peritoneal effusion
