Chess Club
An important part of every game is to know well
your battlefield ground. Without looking at a chess
board, draw it yourself and mark the board with
its corresponding letters and numbers along the
bottom and left side. One important hint for setting
up a chess board is to always have the bottom right
square set as white.
This month’s chess puzzle includes an invitation to
watch a great chess movie which was just released.
It is based on the true story of a young boy from
Brooklyn going against the Russian empire and
becoming a world chess champion.

bishop to H3 is a move which is also sacrificing the
bishop, but also creates a strong chain of pawns for
