Southeast Asian role for chemist
TUBE and wire drawing lubricant
specialist Metalube has appointed
Mohd Shahrin Abu Bakar as technical
sales engineer for Southeast Asia.
From 2010 to January 2013, Shahrin
was development chemist in the
company’s laboratory in Manchester,
UK.
In his new position Shahrin will provide
technical and sales support throughout
the whole of SoutheastAsia toMetalube’s
local agent, Meltech Resources. A
graduate in Master of Engineering
(M.Eng) Chemical Engineering from
The University of Manchester in 2009,
Shahrin became an associate member
of the Institute of Chemical Engineers
(AMIChemE) in 2011. He was also
awarded the International Wire and
Machinery (IWMA) John C Hogg Travel
Award at Wire Düsseldorf 2012.

Hydraulic cylindrical grinder
ROLL-KRAFT has again expanded its
production equipment list to include
a new hydraulic cylindrical grinder.
The machine will be installed at the
corporate headquarters in Ohio,
USA, within the coming weeks. It will
be used to perform several grinding
functions leading to the final much-
sought-after smooth finish to roll
tooling manufactured by Roll-Kraft and
supplied to the tube and pipe and roll
forming industries.
Roll-Kraft utilises many processes
to produce its tooling. One of the most
effective technical services offered
is the design of tooling using FEA
Copra software. This virtual simulation
software is used to identify problem
areas so design changes can take
place before manufacturing begins.
