MRI-guided BT: Leuven protocol (1)
MRI-compatible Fletcher type tandem-ovoid applicator (Nucletron, The
Netherlands) is inserted, together with a rectal retractor.
The vagina is packed with gauze soaked in diluted gadolinium
(0.5 mmol/ml–1%) to increase the distance between the sources and the
rectum and bladder.
The applicator is fixed to the patient’s pelvic skin with adhesive surgical
tape.
