National
Golf Tournament
2015
Section UK’s National Tournament was held at Hanbury Manor Golf
and Country Club in Ware, Hertfordshire on 24 and 25 June 2015.
Teams representing all parts of the United Kingdom took part with IPA
colleagues flying from Scotland and Ireland to compete.
T
he facilities were magnificent
and
demanding. Designed by Jack Nicklaus,
it has held both Men’s and Women’s
European Tour events including The European
Open in 1998.
The event was a team one with linked individual
prizes over the two days.
The Day One individual winner was Region 5’s
Steve Winnard who amassed an incredible 44
points!
After the day’s play members enjoyed a
sumptuous dinner in private rooms which
ensured plenty of ‘encouragement’ and banter in
a true ‘servo per amikeco’ atmosphere ensuring
that everyone had a great time!
On Day 2 Region 5 featured again in the winner’s
group when Andy Picken, with 35 points also won
the individual prize for the day. The combined
effort of Steve and Andy resulted in Region 5
taking the team prize for the event as a whole
with Region 10 as the Runners Up.
The prizes were presented by 10 Region Chair
and event organiser Steve Jennings.
IPA golf members play at fantastic discounted
venues. They meet amazing people from all over
the UK to share a love of golf and the competition
is healthy, real - and friendly.
