A Day at the Races
Region 3 hosted a day out at York Races. The weather – glorious
sunshine - was a bonus although even rain wouldn’t have dampened
the spirits or the race cards, as those attending enjoyed the day from
a luxury private box overlooking the finishing straight.
There were smiles all round when the 20/1 winner of the second race
provided many in the box with bulging wallets. The day had far more
winners than losers and was capped with a spectacular afternoon tea.
Iain Sirrell, Regional Chair
said, ‘It’s a whip cracking
way to experience the
races and all those
attending are already
booking their places for
next year’s event to be
held on Saturday 21
May 2016 – they want
to avoid missing out on
another treat.‘
