INDEXFlexible cat.6A
Category 6A cables have long supported
fast data transmission rates in industrial
Ethernet systems, but lacked the continuous
flex or torsion design features necessary
for moving machine applications. Lapp
Group’s new Etherline
®
cat.6A cables have
been designed to remove these limitations.
In what is believed to be an industry first,
the new Etherline cables combine cat.6A’s
10Gbits per second data transfer rates with
continuous flex and torsion performance
suitable for robotics, machine vision systems,
wind turbines and other industrial machines
with motion systems.
Previous continuous flex industrial Ethernet
cables offered data transfer rates of up to
1Gbit per second.
Etherline cat.6A is available in continuous
flex and torsion versions. The continuous
flex version is suitable for use in cable tracks
and is tested for over a million bending
cycles, while the torsion version is optimized
for torsion applications.
Cable management solutions
Siemon has released its new RouteIT
®
vertical and horizontal cable management
solution.
Available in single- and double-sided
vertical managers in a range of widths,
and in horizontal managers with either 4''
or 6'' management fingers, the RouteIT
cable managers provide a system solution
for routing and protecting both horizontal
cables and patch cords. The high capacity,
field-replaceable fingers can easily
accommodate 48 category 6A cables to
work seamlessly with high-density patch
panels and high-density blade switches,
while offering a finger radius that prevents
deformation of cable.
“As part of our commitment to offer a
comprehensive line of cable management
systems, we introduced the new RouteIT
vertical and horizontal cable managers to
specifically address high density cabling
systems in a variety of telecommunications
spaces,” said Dave Valentukonis, cabling
support systems business unit manager for
Siemon, adding: “The RouteIT vertical cable
managers are extremely flexible. They come
in 6, 10, 12 and...16 inch widths, and the
divider brackets can even be positioned to
taper capacity from the front to the rear."
The RouteIT vertical
and horizontal cable
manager
solutions
also feature a range
of mounting points
for optional Siemon
¼-turn management
accessories,
fiber
management spools
and cable ties, for
easy segregation of
media types.
