The EPOCH LT handheld ultrasonic flaw detector allows defect sizing
according to API Recommended Practice 5UE.
Phased array ultrasound provides
flexibility and complete control
of all parameters with regard to
inspection and product require-
ments including:

beam relative to the targeted defects,

adaptability of the beam coverage
and inspection overlap to specific
requirements,

programmable optimization of the
focal length and spot size for wall
thickness and geometry measure-
ments, and

programmable beam steering to
maximize detection of both surface
breaking and non-surface breaking
defects.
Full body inspection achieves 2 dB repeatability at up to 2 m/s. Weld inspec-
tion is performed with a concentric waterpath and a beam optimized in the
depth direction allowing discrimination between ID and OD defects and
detection of all defects including penetrators.
