From September 23

to 26
th
2008, the Shanghai New
International Expo Centre (SNIEC) will play host to the
concurrent wire and tube trade shows, wire & Tube
China 2008. Organised jointly by Messe Düsseldorf
China Ltd and Shanghai Electric Cable Research
Institute, this year’s show is expected to exceed the
visitor and exhibitor numbers of 2006 when 615
exhibitors welcomed more than 30,000 visitors over
the four exhibition days.
Expectations are high, given the success of the
previous events. Amidst a period of strong demand in
wire and cable, and fast growth in the wire and cable
industry in East China, wire China 2008 will provide
an important trade and exchange platform for China
and Asia.
Who’s exhibiting?
International and domestic companies within the
sectors of wire manufacturing and finishing machinery
development and supply, process technology,
materials, special wires and cables, test engineering
and measuring and control
technology – amongst others
– will be demonstrating their
latest products, services and
expertise throughout the
event.
Trade
associations
including the International Wire
& Machinery Association
(IWMA), International Wire and
Cable Exhibitors Association
(IWCEA) and its affiliated
German Wire and Cable
Machine Manufacturers Asso-
ciation (VDKM), Austrian Wire
and
Cable
Machinery
Manufacturers
Association
(VOEDKM/AWCMA), International Wire and Cable
Exhibitors Association-France (IWCEA-France), Italian
Wire Machinery Manufacturers Association (ACIMAF)
and Wire and Cable Industry Suppliers Association
(WCISA) have expressed continued support for the
event and will organise national pavilions for their
respective countries.
By the end of June 2008, nearly 700 exhibitors had
confirmed their participation. All available space was
fully committed and a waiting list of interested,
potential exhibitors was created. Across the two
shows, wire and Tube, a total exhibition area of
43,000m
2
has sold out.
Who should visit?
Visitor pre-registrations are reflecting the target
audience, with delegates from the wire and cable
industry; iron, steel and non-ferrous metals sector;
aerospace and automotive supply industries;
electrical and construction sectors as well as trade
associations, technical institutions and universities.
Sharing and learning – the seminar series
Though not confirmed at the time of going to press,
the seminar series, to be run concurrently with the
exhibition, will be finalised in time for visitors to plan
their itinerary. The series was a great success in 2006
when 22 forums, conferences and technical seminars,
held in parallel with the trade fair, enhanced the
professional calibre of the event and raised
a good deal of interest among trade visitors.
On the following pages is a complete listing of
exhibitors participating at wire China 2008, correct at
time of going to press; this is followed by a section
where exhibitors at the event describe the new
technologies that will be on show.
