ENTER LOG for code error
Once the Coding Comparison screen has been reviewed, you must complete a log for Error Type
and Reason for Error for each highlighted difference. Click on an ENTER LOG box and the
screen below will appear.
4.8.2
ERROR TYPE
From the drop-down list, select the appropriate ERROR TYPE. The list of options will vary
according to the position and type of code. For example, in the following screen shot the log is
for the first-listed diagnosis code so ‘Incorrect principal diagnosis’ is included as an option.
