BBE Group establishes automation division

The BBE Group, which specialises in mine

ventilation, refrigeration and energy opti-

misation engineering, has established a

new automation division to extend its ser-

vices. BBE Automation primarily supports

the Group’s consulting services and turnkey

projects but also provides automation and

electrical services to mining and process

plants in all commodities.

Launched in November 2016, BBE

Automation comprises a team of experts

skilled in medium and low voltage elec-

trical systems, field instrumentation and

equipment automation in mine ventila-

tion, refrigeration and energy engineering.

Other markets include mining process

plants, water and waste water systems and

the manufacturing industry.

“Automation has always been part of

the BBE competency, particularly under our

Projects umbrella. BBE Automation division

was a natural extension of our business and

part of a growth strategy to develop an

electrical and automation division, giving

us focused expertise and greater capacity,”

says Deon Nolan, Business Development

Manager for the BBE Group.

“Energy savings, smart control systems,

cost-effective solutions that are the best

available in the market, and automating

plants in the Big Data and IoT (Internet of

Things) era we live in are key services to our

customers.”

“The new division is a good fit with

what we already offer in mine ventilation

and refrigeration. Clients can expect the

same excellent service from BBE but also

extended to new areas of their mines or

plants,”adds Christo Visagie, GM of the new

division.

BBE Automation is able to undertake a

full range of projects from greenfield sites

to plant extensions and upgrades. Project

detail levels vary from concept through all

design stages to implementation and com-

missioning. Post implementation services

include on-going support and training.

As a business unit of the BBE Group,

BBE Automation is able to offer the opti-

mal solution using the best combination of

available equipment, tailor-made to each

client’s specific requirements. The division

is a registered Systems Integrator for the

majority of the internationally recognised

control systems, and the team is fully up to

date with the ever-changing technologies

and programming protocols.

Global wet processing industry leader CDE

once again participated in CONEXPO-CON/

AGG (on 7-11 March 2017 in Las Vegas)

where the company unveiled its latest

CDE launches wash plant and screens at CONEXPO

innovation, the CDE M5500 wash plant

that can produce up to 550 tons per hour

of washed materials on a single chassis. A

selection of Infinity screens, the compa-

ny’s new development in screening

technology, was also launched on

the North American market.

According to Kevin Vallelly, Head

of Product Development at CDE, the

M5500 combines feeding, screen-

ing, washing and stockpiling onto

one chassis, and packs an extra

punch with unique features. These

include its high capacity, a five-

product capability and triple pass

cyclone sand washing.

Adapted to applications in both

dry and wet screening situations

across a wide range of materials, the

new CDE Infinity technology will be

of particular interest to operators looking

for sturdier andmore economical vibrating

screens.

Says Neil Mullan, Design Engineer at

CDE: “The new weld-free Infinity screens

can generate the same acceleration as

conventional screens with less weight,

resulting in a reduction in power con-

sumption and in operational costs, which

presents significant benefits to our clients’

operations.”

According to CDE, its materials wash-

ing equipment allows for more accurate

material classification than traditional sand

washing methods, higher quality washed

sand, reduced costs of pond excavation,

and reduced risks on site. The final product

exits the plant ready for use, having been

dewatered to 15 % moisture.
