The postcricoid region of the
hypopharynx includes the
mucosa and submucosa
extending from the inferior
aspect of the arytenoids to the
bottom of the cricoid cartilage.
The lateral margins merge with
the medial wall of each pyriform
sinus at approximately that
level where the cricoid cartilage
makes an anterior bend.
