of environmental concerns into response recovery and

capacity building efforts to mainstream environmental

concerns including reconstruction and peace-building

programmes for post-conflict countries and countries affected

by disasters

Health and Environment assessment in the Republic of Moldova facilitated (to be

presented at the Ministerial conference on Environment and Health in Europe,

Parma 2010)

DEWA C303: Technical assistance to Moldova in carrying out

Environment and Health assessment applying GEO for Health

Methodology from LAC

Georgia

Training and advice on assessment of the existing waste management practice and

recommendations for the improvement of waste management in the frozen conflict

zone of South Ossetia provided.

Governments to enhance their institutional and technical

capacity in data collection, research, analysis, monitoring,

integrated environmental assessment, early warning and

information networking as specified in of the Bali Strategic

Plan and supporting a coherent delivery of United Nations

Assessment of 8 Eastern European and African country needs in remotely sensed

information and technology prepared in collaboration with the with Canadian Space

DEWA A8: Global and sub-global consultations with decision-

makers, experts and partners to identify the scope and

methods of a coherent set of assessments that meet their

needs and are policy relevant, legitimate and scientifically

credible as well as strengthens developing countries and

countries with economies in transition participation in broader

assessment processes as called for in the Bali Strategic Plan.
