practised at Thurles. Mr. Ryan was a
member of the Council from the year 1924
to the date of his death, and was President
of the Society for the year 1931-32.
MR. JOHN K. McCoNNELL, Solicitor, died
on the 1st September, 1935, at Omagh.
Mr. McConnell was admitted in Hilary
Sittings, 1892, and practised at Omagh up
to the year 1931, when he retired.
MR. THOMAS F. CURRAN, Solicitor, died on
8th September, 1935, at his residence, Annagh
House, Ballyhaunis.
Mr. Curran was
admitted
in Easter
Sittings, 1883, and practised at Ballyhaunis
up to 1893, when he retired.
MR. WILLIAM A. LANPHIER, Solicitor, of
Naas, Co. Kildare, died on the 8th October,
1935, at Kingstown, Co. Dublin.
Mr. Lanphier was admitted in Trinity
Sittings, 1887, and practised at Naas up to
the time of his death.
MR. SAMVJEL J. DIAMOND, Solicitor, died
at his residence, " Holmhurst," Richmond
Park, Belfast, on llth October, 1935.
Mr. Diamond served his apprenticeship
with Mr. Robert Diamond, Belfast, and was
admitted
in Hilary Sittings,
1906,
and
practised in Belfast up to the time of his
death.
MR. PATRICK J. MAGEE, Solicitor, died on
the 27th October, 1935, at his residence,
226 Antrim Road, Belfast.
Mr. Magee served his apprenticeship with
the
late Mr. Charles L. McLorinan, of
Belfast; was admitted in Trinity Sittings,
1895, and practised in Belfast up to the time
of his death.
MR. PATRICK A. MOONEY, Solicitor, died
on the 27th October, 1935, at Cork.
Mr. Mooney served his apprenticeship with
Mr. Charles E. Murphy, of Cootehill; was
admitted
in Hilary Sittings,
1914,
and
practised formerly at Kells, Co. Meath, and
latterly as a member of the firm of Babington,
Clarke and Mooney, Cork, up t9 the time of
his death.
Mr. Timothy Luccy, Solicitor, died on the
27th October, 1935, at his residence, Sandy
Hill, Macroom, Co. Cork.

COMMITTEE 0? INQUIRY INTO PATENT,
DESIGN AND TRADE MARK LAW.

The Minister for Industry and Commerce
on the 6th August appointed a Committee,
consisting of nine members, to consider and
report whether any, and if so what, changes
in the law relating to patents, designs and
trade marks are desirable. At the request of
the Council, Mr. G. A. Overend and Mr. A.
Cox, Solicitors, have consented
to give
evidence before the Committee.
