MR. JOSEPH E. MACDERMOTT, Solicitor,

died upon the 31st January, 1936, at his

residence, Belfort, Blackrock, County Dublin.

Mr. MacDermott served his apprenticeship

with the firm of Maxwell, Weldon & Co.,

Dublin, was admitted in Michaelmas Sittings,

1880, and practised at 21 Nassau Street,

Dublin.

Mr. MacDermott was a member of the

Council from the year 1912 to 1928, and was

President of the Society for the year 1922-23.

He was Deputy Chairman of the Solicitors'

Benevolent Association from 1927 to 1932,

and was Chairman from 1933 to 1936.

COURTS OF JUSTICE BILL, 1934.

This Bill, which is under consideration at

present in the Dail, has passed the Com

mittee stage, and

awaits Report stage.

The Bill has been issued as amended on

re-committal.

CALENDAR.

The Calendar of the Society for 1936 can

be obtained in the Secretary's office. Price

five shillings ;

by post, five shillings and

sixpence.

APRIL EXAMINATIONS, 1936.

Final Examination will be held on Wednes

day and Thursday, 1st and 2nd days of

April. Notice of intention to attend to be

lodged before llth March.

First and Second Examinations in Irish

will be held on Friday, 3rd day of April.

Notice of intention to attend to be lodged

before 14th March.

Preliminary Examination will be held on

Monday and Tuesday, 6th and 7th days of

April. Notice of intention to attend to be

lodged before 17th March.________
