AOAC 942.23 (Food) and 986.27 (IF) HPLC with
fluorescence detection, acid hydrolysis, enzyme
treatment, and pre‐column thiachrome
formation.
GB 5413.11, EN 14122 and BIS 5398 all employ a
very similar approach as the AOAC methods with
the EN method allowing for post‐column
thiachrome conversion, and the BIS method also
including the microbiological method option.
