CLASS REPS: Carolyn Gooderham, Alexandra

Rolland and Andaleeb Shariff

The Havergal Class of 2008 has had a busy year pursuing

our goals and aspirations. While many of us continue the

journeys mentioned in our updates from last year, here are

a few new and exciting things happening:

Many of us are continuing our education.

Danielle

(Danni) Chu

is currently pursuing a master’s in law (LLM)

at the London School of Economics and will be returning

to Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP Calgary in October.

Sabrina McCubbin Greydanus

is entering her final year

at Georgetown Law, where she is the editor-in-chief of the

Journal of National Security Law and Policy

. She will be a

summer associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in

Washington, D.C. She and her husband Richard Greydanus

celebrated their fifth anniversary in May.

Sarah Luce-

Andreyko

is in her second year of an MLA at the University

of Guelph. She is starting her thesis on temporal landscapes

that can be moved from city to city in response to climate

change, sea level rise and the leave-no-trace movement to

foster dynamic environments.

Isabelle Lerebours

completed her second bachelor in

criminology at UOttawa and, in September, moved to the

Netherlands to start a master’s in victimology and criminal

justice. She will conduct fieldwork in Greece interviewing

refugees, and her thesis will focus on the possible

victimization which they may have experienced. Lastly,

soon-to-be Dr.

Olympia Kiriakou

recently passed her PhD

defence in film studies!

Christie Campbell

enjoys her work in Toronto as a

civil litigation lawyer.

Corinne (Cori) Guirgis

runs a digital

marketing and social media consulting and management

business, primarily focused on arts, music and film.

Ren Ee

Choo

works in Kingston as a family doctor after completing

an enhanced skills program in obstetrics in Ottawa, and she

looks forward to moving back to Toronto this year!

Special congratulations to our newly engaged and wed

alumni!

Caroline Reiss

just got engaged to her travel

buddy of three years and best friend Cameron. They will

be moving to Prince Edward County in the spring to start a

business on a farm and attempt to plan a wedding.

Anne-Marie Firth

left her job as an associate director in

commodity derivative sales at Scotiabank in New York,

packed her bags and moved to Philadelphia to start a

joint MBA and MA in international studies (Latin America)

at Wharton and the Lauder Institute at UPenn. True to her

roots, she is on the board of Canada Club and is captain of

a D-league ice hockey team. Anne-Marie will be interning in

consulting at Bain in Houston this summer, with plans to go

back after graduation in 2018.

Meghan McLeod

is a senior associate at PwC in the

mining practice out in British Columbia. She has passed

the CFE exam and will qualify as a CPA in 2017.

Michela

Comparey

started a master’s of occupational therapy in

September at McMaster University. She’s still freelancing as

a tuba player in Toronto and was invited to perform a recital

in June at the International Women’s Brass Conference

in Glassboro, New Jersey, with her colleague Carina Lam.

Taylor Stocks

is a special projects co-ordinator at the Harris

Centre at MUN and also works in strategic planning and

facilitation for local non-profits. Taylor still sits on the city’s

access and inclusion committee; she has been appointed

to MUN’s committee for employment equity and diversity.

She still does drag and sits on the trans needs committee.

Erin Morawetz

is the brand relationships manager for

Wanderful, an international membership community for

women travellers. In this role, Erin serves as a marketing

consultant for travel brands that want to reach the Wanderful

community. She is also the public relations and marketing

chair for the Women in Travel Summit, run by Wanderful.

Taylor Maavara

is defending her PhD in June and is leaving

for the Indian Himalayas to (again) attempt the first ascent

of the West Face of the peak Z1. In August, she will start a

post-doctoral fellowship at Berkeley National Lab. Taylor will

split her time between the lab in California and a field camp

in the high Colorado Rockies, studying the effects of climate

change on a pristine river.

Hilary George-Parkin

is currently

a freelance journalist in New York City, writing for publications

including

Racked, Refinery29, Fashionista

and

i-D

.
