several jurisdictions o f Munster, Ulster, Leinster

and Connaught.”

The individual Championship was won by Mr.

J. Boston, Belfast, with a score o f 37 points, the

runner-up being Mr. A. J. Walmsley, Belfast with

35 points. The prize for best score by a visitor

was won by Mr. M. T. Neary with 33 points and

Mr. G. J. Moloney won the special prize in respect

o f the score for four sealed holes.

A ll visitors were entertained to dinner by the

Belfast Solicitors’ Association on the night prior

to the competition—this date having been arranged

so as to facilitate their return journey on the Saturday

afternoon. The dinner was a most successful and

enjoyable function and there was a large and dis­

tinguished attendance to greet the visitors. Included

amongst the speakers on behalf o f Ulster in respect

o f the various toasts were Mr. J. H. Campbell Q.C.

Resident Magistrate, Mr. Long, Resident Magistrate

and Mr. G. H. Pollock Clerk o f the Crown and

Peace, Belfast. Mr. L. I. G. Fox (in a speech that

was much acclaimed) proposed the toast o f the

visitors. Messrs. J. Barrett, C. M. J. Daly and

L. K . Branigan were called upon to reply. Mr.

J. J. O’Connor (Vice-President) and Mr. E. A.

Plunkett (Secretary, Incorporated Law Society of

Ireland) replied to the toast o f the Society. Mr.

C. J. Downing (Tralee) was amongst those also

called upon to speak on behalf o f the visitors.

Tribute was paid to Mr. A. J. Walmsley and Mr.

F. Martin for their part in organising the meeting

and to those who had assisted them, and it was

hoped that the return meeting to be held in Leinster

next year would be equally successful.
