The Right to Work exercised by Third-Country Nationals
It is a generally acknowledged fact that the European systems of social protection are
nowadays experiencing severe financial problems. To ensure prosperity and solidarity
within Europe and across the society and generations, both Europe and the Czech
Republic need in the future higher employment, greater productivity and social
understanding than until now. This paper deals with certain legal problems aliens
have to face in the Czech Republic if they want to work. If the aliens are to participate
in covering expenses necessary to make up for risks, it is difficult to refrain them
from participating in the social benefits. Though we may not realistically expect that
mass migration will protect the Czech social system from the impacts linked with
the ageing domestic population, we shall surely benefit from maximizing foreign
skills, and the overall positive economic contribution of the migrants on the hosting
country’s economy. The area of food production and gastronomy is an example of an
appropriate entrepreneurial activity field for immigrants from Arabian countries to fill
up a market niche.
