beverage,

which,

if

compounded

a

proper

manner,

intoxicating

as

it

has

the

character

of

being,

a

composition

of

sugar,

lemon,

water,

or

milk,

and

spirit,

with

addition

of

some

aromatic

or

cordial

wine

being

sometimes

substituted

for

the

spirit.

There

is

no

precise

rule

for

making

punch,

no

two

persons

agreeing

in

the

exact

proportions

of the

gredients.

is

that
