JUNIOR COLLEGE NAME CHANGE
After July, 1987, the Board of trustees of any junior college district shall be authorized, with the approval of the Board, to change
the name of the junior college to community college.
The following procedures shall apply:
1.
The only change authorized is from junior to community.
2.
The local Boards of Trustees' action regarding the name change shall be recorded in the official minutes of the local
Board of trustees. A certified copy of that part of the Board minutes shall be provided the Board along with a request
for Board approval of the name change.
3.
The institution shall establish a date upon which the name change shall become effective. Such date shall allow
sufficient time for transition of printed materials, signs, official documents, and notice to education and political
entities of the name change.
4.
It shall be the duty of the institution to give notice to educational and political entities regarding the name change to
community college and the Initial Date of Adoption.
