The
construction
of
this
machine
is
extremely
simple,
not
at
all
expensive,
and
very
little
subject
to
repairs.
Two
handles
have
been
fixed
to
it,
though
one
man
might
work
it
;
but
it
would
be
better,
in
an
uninterrupted
work,
to
employ
two
men.
1000
kilogrammes
(about
2000
pounds)
of
potatoes
may
thus
be
reduced
in
the
course
of
ten
or
twelve
hours
;
a
greater
product
might
be
obtained
by
applying
more
force
to
it,
and
by
making
use
of
such
wheels
as
would
accelerate
the
rotation
of
the
cylinders.
