Beswick Engineering specialises in
high-performance miniature fluid power
components featuring captured O-ring
face seals for leak-tight sealing, a variety
of materials for corrosion resistance,
and ultra-miniature designs for space
savings.
The company has launched a miniature
dry break quick disconnect that
connects without fluid spray or leakage.
The design minimises dead volume (the
space between the internal and external
ends when connected) to essentially
eliminate leakage when disconnecting.
The assembly is constructed of
stainless steel throughout for corrosion
resistance, and weighs only 15g. Both
internal and external quick disconnect
ends are available with 10-32 internal
threads, and include captured O-ring
seals for leak-tight connections. Panel
mount versions are also available, and
external threads will be offered in the
future.
Kitemark approval
for pipes and
fittings
Radius Systems (formerly Uponor) has
been awarded Kitemark certification for
its entire gas pipe and electrofusion
fittings ranges, including ProFuse PE100
peelable pipe.
The ProFuse product range now has
Kitemarks from 75mm SDR21 to 630mm
SDR21, for use on low and medium
pressure UK gas systems, and is
available for the first time in the smaller
diameters. Electrofusion fittings now
covered by Kitemark include Radius
couplers, reducers, elbows, tees,
end caps, branch saddles, purge tee
saddles, and 32mm and 63mm outlet
tapping tee saddles.
Radius Systems has taken a gas industry
lead by bringing together all parties
with an interest in supplying products,
and producing a workable document
that companies can obtain approval to,
whilst meeting Health & Safety Executive

The new dry break quick disconnects
are designed and manufactured
for applications where space, leak-
tightness, durability, and light weight
are required.
Applications include medical and
dental equipment, instruments,
laboratory equipment, semiconductor
manufacturing equipment, aerospace
equipment, packaging machinery and
industrial robots.
Beswick Engineering also manufactures
several other types of miniature quick
disconnects, including snap type,
screw type, single line, single shut-
off, double shut-off, threaded and
barbed connections, and multi-line
configurations. The multi-line versions
provide quick connections while also
ensuring proper orientation.
