L. Insulation Systems: Subcontractor to furnish and install Thermal and Acoustical Insulation to achieve the “R” rating or “STC” rating in thickness and types specified at locations required in the Contract Documents including vapor retarder adhesive, fasteners and other accessories required. 1. Install insulation at vertical walls, soffits, ceilings, and locations noted in metal frame systems, interior partitions, gypsum board ceilings systems, soffits, and suspended framing. 2. Install insulation in cavities and spaces behind Subcontractors wall assemblies or above ceiling assemblies. 3. Install insulation at horizontal transitions in walls systems and lay-on locations on top of gypsum board ceiling systems. 4. At furred wall conditions install insulation from floor to bottom of deck above as shown. 5. Accessories: Include impaling pins, shields, mounting plates, adhesives, and other manufacturer required items for a complete installation. 6. Allow provisions around pipe, conduit, chases, structural or panel connections, or other access systems to maintain the thermal, fire rating or sound rating values or performance. 1. Install joint sealants where: a) This Subcontractor’s Work creates joint between its Work and existing adjacent surface, substrate or installation installed by other trades (e.g., joints finishing to CMU partitions or assemblies, Concrete floors/columns/walls/beams, precast decks, panels, walls, structural shapes or angle, at SOFP systems, aluminum frames, metal framing, or backing, expansion joints, door frames, equipment, header walls, cabinets, or locations where this Subcontractor’s Work finishes to other substrates). b) Joints created within and between the installed elements of this Subcontractor’s Work. 2. Acoustical sealants for exposed or concealed joints as specified. 3. All interior joints within Subcontractor’s systems. M. Joint Sealants: Subcontractor to furnish and install all joint sealants related to this Subcontractor’s Work in accordance with Contract Documents.
