Double safety allows system operation
without downtimes
Fluid technology specialist Stauff
has added the RFS-D series to its
filtration technology product range.
The switchable duplex return-line filters
in a special heavy-duty version are
suitable for nominal flow rates of up to
1,135 litres per minute and a maximum
operating pressure of up to 25 bar.
The housings were designed as tank-
top or in-line filters using threaded
or flanged connections on inlet and
outlet. As the last link in the hydraulic
cycle, they retain solid particles in the
return oil flow before these enter the
supply tank, providing a significant
contribution to ensuring maximum
system performance.
The use of replacement filter elements
from the RE series from Stauff ensures
a high level of efficiency for removing
solid particles. The high dirt absorption
capacity of the elements allows a long
service life, reducing maintenance work
and costs.
The permanently integrated 90° switch
valve between the two sides allows
continuous use of the filters: when the
first filter element has to be replaced
upon reaching the maximum level of
contamination – indicated by a visual
clogging indicator or an electrical limit
switch – the flow can be switched
over to the opposite side by manually
operating the switching lever without
causing system downtime.
Filter housings of this size are used
in modern clinker cooling systems
in cement production, for example.
Hydraulic components are usually
installed on the outside of the actual
cooling system, protected against dust
and easily accessible for repair and
maintenance purposes. For this type of
application, the duplex return-line filters
are essential components of a system
of redundant motors and pumps that
allows continuous operation of the
system without expensive downtimes,
even if repairs should become
necessary.

Hydra-Zorb Co, a manufacturer of
products for clamping pipe or tube in
the hydraulic, pneumatic and HVAC/R
industries, has launched the Bronco
tube and pipe saddle, and the Titan
riser clamp.
The products were unveiled at the
AHR Show (Air-Conditioning, Heating,
Refrigerating) in Las Vegas, USA.
The Bronco tube and pipe saddle uses
high-strength plastic that can snap into
channels of any depth, offering stability
and preventing damage to the insulation
from pipe movement. The product is
available in several sizes, in either
black or white to match the insulation
colour.
The Klo-Shure Titan insulated riser
clamp series is made to fit vertical pipe
runs and create a clean vapour barrier
after insulation is installed.
Titan risers are moulded with high-
strength plastic with a crush-resistant
design and a vertical load rating range of
1,000 to 2,000 lb. The clamps are claimed
to offer three times faster installation
with an improved finished appearance.
Both products are made in the USA
at Hydra-Zorb’s new 52,000 ft
2
plant
in Auburn Hills, Michigan, which was
built specifically with these products in
mind.
The company’s two primary products
– Hydra-Zorb cushion clamps and
Klo-Shure insulation couplings – are
simple but important components in
projects ranging from small power units
for hydraulics to couplings used for
HVAC/R lines in construction.
“We’ve purposely stayed focused on our
core products,” said Hydra-Zorb presi-
dent Robert Dodge.
“The new Bronco and Titan lines
complement what we do and were
developed in direct response to our
customers’ most frequently requested
needs.”
