Manchester Tool and Die
M71 Servo
Flag Stop
Our servo positioning
flag stop system
helps to quickly adjust
tube out through the
machine’s H.M.I.
(human machine
interface). It provides
consistent adjustments
for quicker setup
up times.
• 12.5 times faster than standard trunnion flag system when
making tube out of jaw adjustments
• On average, it takes two minutes to make a 1.5” adjustment
on a manual trunnion flag, the Servo Flag takes only 7 seconds
• Average time savings is 12.5 minutes per shift
• Pays itself back in less than three months at one shift/day*
• Payback is less than one month running three shifts/day*
• Retro fits of older machines are also available —
contact MTD for more information
* Values based on five setups per shift
* Values are estimates, actual payback may vary

FGW170 4ZV is a machine for square
and rectangular tube finishing and
polishing. This model was recently
developed by NS Máquinas and is
used for two or four sides simultaneous
finishing.
The polishing machine is also suitable
for stainless steel flat bars and flat
surface element finishing on top and
bottom side at the same time. With
170mm width capacity, this machine
enables feeding of multiple tubes
simultaneously.
FGW170 4ZV has four abrasive
stations, two working from the top and
two from the bottom, permitting the
complete outside surface to be finished
in two passes only. Additionally, this
machine features software that includes
tube returning mode.
The FGW170 4ZV from NS Máquinas
With this function activated the
operator can have the polished profiles
back on the feeding point without having
to return them manually. This makes
the surface finishing work on tubes
and profiles more productive than with
standard equipment.
FGW170 4ZV combines high output
with flexibility of work. The operator has
the possibility to replace the abrasive
belt per brush unit.
This creates multiple combinations
of abrasive materials from tube coarse
belt grinding up to very fine surface
finishings.
Polishing curved or flat shapes of
aluminium profiles is also possible
either with abrasive belt with special
contact roller or with abrasive brushes.
In addition the three conveyor belt
system enables the use of only top or
bottom stations, increasing the range
of application of this tube and profile
polishing machine.
FGW170 4ZV also has a water cooling
system. This enables the tube finishing
operation with low temperatures,
avoiding material heat distortion.
Additionally, combining the work of
different metals is safer.
This cooling system works in closed
circuit with an integrated automatic
filtering and pumping system.
The equipment easily slides outside
the machine whenever cleaning or
paper roll replacement is needed.
The finishing machine has a touch-
screen control where all functions can
be set from abrasive belt speed, profile
feeding speed, selection of stations
to operate, motors consumption and
pumping system.
Also, several programs with different
combinations of settings can be saved
for future use.
More information about FGW170
4ZV finishing machine can be seen at
the NS Máquinas website, where a
demonstration video is also available.
