FOLLOWING demand from existing
customers, Omni-x has increased
its mandrel bending tooling range to
include end-forming tooling.
Parent company Omni-x USA had
already started producing end-forming
tooling after a successful design and
testing period. Omni-x CZ has followed
suit, and after undergoing its own testing
and design procedures is now fully up
and running.
With the new tooling added to the
range, the company also decided to
invest in extra personnel, machin-
ery and the expansion of the premises
in Brno, Czech Republic. Five new
machines have been purchased: two
Haas VF 2 vertical machining centres,
a Doosan Lynx 220 turning centre, a
Doosan Puma 2600 turning centre and
a Mitsubishi BA24 wire cut EDM.
To house these new machines, and
also to provide extra space for continued
growth, the production area has been
expanded from 1,100m
2
to 2,100m
2
,
and a new 600m
2
warehouse has been
added. There are also plans in place to
purchase more machines in 2014, which
will lead to further job creation for the
local area.
As both the aerospace and the
automotive industries continue to
show signs of growth, the demands
for new and more complex tooling are
increasing. With its team of designers,
engineers and highly skilled CNC and
milling machine operators, Omni-x
states that it is prepared for any tooling
project.

PIPE Ltd will be at Tube Düsseldorf
showcasing its range of pipe-working
equipment and tools for the set up and
efficient welding and fabrication of all
kinds of pipework.
The company manufactures an
extensive range of welding alignment
clamps that have been designed and
developed around the problems faced
by pipe fitters and welders. The range
of pipe clamps manufactured and
offered by PIPE Ltd covers welding of
small bore pipes and fittings to aligning
of large diameter pipes or vessels. The
company’s range of weld fit-up solutions
enables fast, accurate and repeatable

In addition, PIPE Ltd manufactures
a comprehensive range of pipe jack
stands, designed to support and
transport pipes of all sizes and weight,

The stands provide a fast solution to all
pipe handling applications.
With the increase in use of exotic
materials such as Duplex, Super Duplex
and titanium across the pipework
fabrication industry, the need for welds
of high quality and purity has become
increasingly important. To achieve this
quality, oxygen must be removed from,
and kept out of, the weld chamber
while the root pass (initial weld run) is
performed.
To do this, the weld area must be
sealed off and purged of the oxygen to
prevent oxidation of the weld leading to
discoloration, corrosion and an uneven
weld bead.
Reacting to this requirement, PIPE Ltd
has developed a full range of systems
designed specifically for this purpose,
from inflatable bag systems and silicone
disc systems, to water soluble pre-
formed dams, weld purge monitors for
constantly reading the depleting level of
oxygen, and tungsten electrode grinders
designed to give accurate points on
tungsten electrodes for consistent stable
welding arcs.
The company also supplies portable
pipe cutting and bevelling systems, plate
bevelling machines, and heat exchanger
manufacture and maintenance equip-
ment.
At Tube Düsseldorf, the company will
conduct live demonstrations of its range
of products, as well as having technical
staff on hand to answer questions and
discuss requirements.
