International sheet metal
working exhibition in Italy
LAMIERA, the international exhibition of
metal forming machine tools and related
technologies, will be back in Bologna
from 14 to 17 May 2014 to showcase the
best products of the sector.
Taking place at the Bolognafiere
exhibition quarter, and promoted
by Ucimu-Sistemi per Produrre, the
association of Italian manufacturers of
machine tools, robots and automation
systems, the exhibition is organised by
Ceu-Centrol Esposizioni Ucimu.
The stars of LAMIERA 2014 will be
sheet metal forming machines, welding,
cutting, and oxy cutting machines, bars,
processing machines, tubes, presses,
shearing and punching machines,
finishing machines, components and
accessories.
Featured for the first time during the
seventeenth edition of LAMIERA will be
BLECH, Italy, a themed area dedicated
to materials and carpentry, sheets, steel
coils, tubes and profiles, semi-finished
and finished products. With BLECH
Italy, LAMIERA provides visitors with the
most comprehensive overview of the
sector, from materials, to treatments, to
processing machinery.
In 2012 LAMIERA was attended by
18,000 visitors, mainly from the following
sectors: general mechanics (17 per
cent), metallurgy (16 per cent), machine
tool (11 per cent), building (10 per cent),
household appliances (6 per cent), and
food and packaging (6 per cent).
Visitors that crowded the 40,000m
2
of
the exhibition discovered 451 exhibiting
companies (42 per cent of which were
from abroad) and most were strategic
decision makers: 20 per cent cover a
production position, 18 per cent a top
management position, while 15 per cent
a commercial role, and 12 per cent work
in purchasing. 82 per cent of the visitors
interviewed stated that they are involved
in the purchasing processes of their
companies.
Alongside the products on exhibition
the organisers will offer an important
programme of conferences, as well as
Lambda RTDI-IN-FORMING, dedicated
to research centres, international
universities, start-ups, and networking
institutes committed to sustainable
innovation.
In support of the internationalisation
of the companies taking part in the fair,
there will also be several B2B meetings
with important foreign operators and
end users, including the delegation
from the Russian Federation, the
country of honour of the 2014 edition,
with the objective of facilitating contact
between exhibitors and possible
customers.
