NEWELL Franks, chairman of the board and CEO of Burr
Oak Tool Inc participated in a recent event co-hosted by
Industry Week and Siemens. The event was held in Chicago
and focused on solutions to help US manufacturers remain
competitive. Mr Franks’ presentation posed the question of
how US manufacturers could succeed on a global scale,
while detailing factors that may help companies to do so.
Mr Franks stressed the importance of investing in current
equipment and technology and keeping personnel trained,
while continuing with innovation to meet customer demands.
For more than 65 years Burr Oak Tool Inc has designed
customised production machinery for the heat transfer and
tube processing industries. Its machines are installed and
successfully operating in over 70 countries.

Alstom chooses Davi
ALSTOM steel fabrication has chosen a Davi plate roll for
its new plant in the Far East, where the company will build
turbines and conduits. The plate roll is a Davi 4-roll with a top
roll with a diameter (solid) of 900mm (36").
The power on the top roll is 2,000 tons. The mac
roll heavy plate of 3,000 x 150mm (10ft x 6").
