The 142-acre site includes a
stand of pine woods, along
with more than thirty different
species of trees. These, of course,
are in addition to a wealth of
shrubs,wildflowers, and their
attendant wildlife. Awide variety
of wildlife has been observed in
HerrontownWoods.
There are no poisonous snakes.
Bird species vary by season,with
the spring and fall migrations
bringing the greatest number of
species to the woods. A variety of
color-coded trails wend through
the terrain, and visitors can
educate themselves about
the plants as they go along
or simply enjoy the Arboretum
for its spectacle.
