Arlington National

Cemetery is a United

States military cemetery in

Arlington County, Virginia,

across the Potomac

River, in whose 624

acres have been buried

the dead of the nation’s

conflicts beginning

with the American Civil

War. There are only two

U.S. presidents buried

here, John F. Kennedy

and William Howard

Taft. Some others are

Jacqueline Bouvier

Kennedy Onassis

and the Tomb of

the Unknown Soldier.

II Memorial is a national

memorial dedicated to

of 56 pillars and a pair

of small triumphal

arches surrounding a

plaza and fountain, it

sits on the National

Mall at the eastern end

of the Reflecting Pool.

The FreedomWall

has 4,048 gold stars,

each representing 100

Americans who died

in the war. In front of

the wall lies the message

“Here we mark the price

of freedom”.
