There is a huge variety in Berlin’s restaurant, café and bar scene. Every taste is cared for. Due to
the numerous places and quick changes in this field we would like to refer to local magazines or
special Going-Out-Guides, which can be obtained in every newspaper or book shop.
+ Berlin – The Magazin – published quarterly, 3-month diary provides info on art, music,
theatres, festivals, exhibitions, sports events etc.

Sports, Clubs and Recreation
Berlin’s location with its lakes and forest areas is ideal for various sports throughout the whole
year. 40% of Berlin’s municipal area consists of forest and green areas. The waterways through
Berlin total 197 kilometres. Like most cities in Germany, Berlin offers a selection of organised
sports and clubs. The best way to look for a club is to contact one of Berlin’s Sports Associations
(Turnerbund). They will provide information about the indoor and outdoor pools as well as the
sports clubs in their area. The ‘Gelbe Seiten’ ), the local classified directory
provides most of the addresses of private fitness clubs.
