PROJECT PROFILE

A leading light in this sector is

Murray & Roberts Western Cape,

which has seen its Bridge Park

project for the Rabie Property

Group and Growthpoint Prop-

erties at Century City awarded

a 5-Star Green SA Office Design v1 rating by the

Green Building Council of South Africa.

The project is currently working toward its

as-built rating status.

Team is key

Key to the success of the company is its depth

of expertise and its extensive reference base.

“We have a highly experienced team at Bridge

Park. We also shepherded the Portside project,

the tallest building in Cape Town, towards its

5 star design and as-built Green Star rating.

Hence we have significant experience in such

environmental certification, in addition to

keeping abreast of the latest construction

trends and developments,” Mark Fugard,

contracts director for Murray & Roberts Western

Cape, says.

The project

at Century City comprises two four-storey

buildings, namely Bridge Park West and

Bridge Park East, with a super-basement for

parking. The structure is concrete framed with

Aluminium Composite Panel (ACP) cladding for

60% of the building façade and 40% glazing.

The third floor terraces have glazed balus-

trades. The internal atrium of the buildings has

glazed shop fronts and roof lights. A significant

external element is the signage feature walls

cast with Agilia concrete.

says Granvil Jacobs, contracts manager at

the company. The project was divided into

two phases, with Bridge Park East and the

super-basement in Phase I and Bridge Park
