FUTURE INITIATIVES
ECONOMIC
Create and launch a responsive
website for the library;
Expand services offered at the
Library’s Computer Learning Centres,
such as video and photo editing
software; and
Continue to serve low-income
residents by offering tax clinics, in
partnership with community
agencies.
ENVIRONMENTAL
Reduce printing by implementing the scan to USB service at all library locations.
SOCIO-CULTURAL
Undertake a Strategic Planning
process for 2016 – 2018, to better align
library services and resources with
new trends;
Improve services for people with
visual and perceptual disabilities by
promoting and acquiring access to
online services, including eAudio
books;
Plan for improved access to library
service by reviewing and
implementing the Facilities Master
Plan;
Continue to improve equitable access
to learning by working together with
partners to offer responsive
programming, with particular
emphasis on children, families,
newcomers and vulnerable
populations;
Develop an Early Childhood Action
Plan, to focus library efforts in areas
that will have the most impact for
vulnerable learners;
Participate in the Avenues of Change
collective impact project in Guildford
West;
Work with the community in offering
programming that supports the
cultural diversity of our community,
including writing workshops, Surrey
Children’s Festival and cultural
celebrations such as Chinese New
Year; and
Increase access to eResources such as
Lynda.com.
