You need:

2 strips of balsa wood
or thick cardboard.
(We used 915mm x
75mm x 1mm pieces)

A cutting mat

A pencil
➨
A scalpel or Stanley
knife

DECK THE HALLS
Method
1
Lay the balsa wood on
the cutting mat or work
surface. Using our tree
template (opposite),
draw two outlines onto
the balsa wood.

Using the scalpel, cut
out your tree pieces.
(You will need two
pieces per decoration.)
3
Cut a slit vertically
through the centre of
one tree from the top to
the middle. Repeat on
the second tree from the
bottom to the middle.
4
Slot the second tree
over the first tree to
create an upright
decoration.
5
Repeat the process
with different sized trees.
