How did Polli start?

After

graduating from university

we were just itching to work

together on our own project,

so started Polli as a hobby in

2002. We started making die

cut polypropylene baskets

(hence Polli) and sold them at

weekend markets. Then we

experimented with making

earrings from the regular

offcuts. Soon the earrings

outsold the baskets and we

pretty

polli

we talk toMaja Rose and Tess Lloyd

about their sustainable jewellery line

found

started making jewellery in

stainless steel. Before we

knew it we had a few

wholesale accounts and were

taking leave from our day

jobs to do trade shows in

Melbourne. By early 2007

we took the plunge and quit

our full-time jobs. A few

months later we had a team

of five and were on a plane to

our first New York gift show.

It’s been a lot of fun!
