ndustrial Fluid Monitoring Solutions (IFMS), the only authorised ser-

vices, repairs and calibration business for Pall Corporation in South

Africa, now offers direct servicing and calibration for all African users

of Pall’s PCM Cleanliness Monitor units.

IFMS was recently founded by Anton van Deventer, former Technical

Services Manager for Pall South Africa, which had been servicing the

African PCM users under Pall SA. With his 13-plus years of experience

with Pall’s PCMs, filtration, separation and purification products, Van

Deventer helped form Industrial Fluid Monitoring Solutions in conjunc-

tion with a consortium of investors from AFS Holdings who have the

distribution rights for Pall Corporation products in the energy market

servicing the Southern African markets.

The core focus of IFMS is the service, repair and calibration of all Pall

PCMs; service and repair of all Pall filtration, separation and purification

equipment as well as plant filtration audits and system design for new

and existing concerns.

Steven Whitcher, Market Development Manager for AFS Holdings, says

the advent of IFMS comes with significant advantages for African PCM

users. “As a result of our African users being able to deal directly with

IFMS, we can now offer the African customer base quicker turnaround

times on the units, while providing our services at a reduced cost,” he

says, adding: “While the focus is on Africa in this endeavour, there is

a more concentrated focus on Southern Africa for now and we aim to

service any industrial user of hydraulic, lubrication, power transmission

and insulating fluids. These include industries like mining, power sta-

tions, refineries, machinery and equipment.”

IFMS Field Services for purifiers

Water in hydraulic, lubrication, power transmission and insulating flu-

ids adversely affects fluid performance. It threatens overall system re-

liability and can lead to compromised production and costly downtime.

Companies today need equipment that can guarantee oil quality and

reduce operating expenditure and a practical preventative maintenance

programme is a critical part of achieving this.

The right programme will help to extend oil life, reduce the need for

oil disposal and minimise asset corrosion and unexpected equipment

downtime. Proactively addressing these areas of concern improves

equipment reliability and with it, overall costs. Pall purifiers are a key

part of a reliable preventative maintenance strategy.

Pall’s fluid conditioning purifiers have been designed for reliability and

robust operation even under the most challenging conditions. They are

easy to install, operate and maintain, feature a small footprint and can

be built to typical industrial or explosion protected standards.

“We are proud to be recognised as the best services and repairs busi-

ness for all filtration and purification equipment in Africa as well as

the only authorised services, repair and calibration business or Pall

Corporation in South Africa,” says Whitcher. “We’ve enjoyed a positive

response from the market thus far, having secured PCM service and

calibration contracts from Angola and the Middle East as well as locally.

This bodes well for the future of IFMS and paves the way for more ac-

cessible and affordable servicing, repairs and calibration for Pall PCM

users in Africa,” he concludes.
