Diagnosis based on integration of clinical, histological,
immunophenotypic and genetic features

Basic division into ‘precursor’ and ‘mature’ (or
‘peripheral’) lymphomas. Then by lineage (B/T/NK-cell)

Thymus and bone marrow are primary sites of precursor
T- and B-cell development
•
‘Peripheral’ sites are deep and superficial lymph nodes
and extranodal (e.g., mucosal) lymphoid tissues
