Award Ceremony

for the multimedia product "State of the Environment Re-

ports Sampler CD-ROM and Cookbook". This product in-

cludes national SoE reports from 16 countries in Central

and Eastern Europe and the Newly Independent States,

and a "cookbook" providing methodological guidance for

developing electronic environmental status reports on the

Internet.

GRID-Arendal received the

award

The Princes' Award is initiated by the European Environ-

ment Agency in Copenhagen and named after its patrons,

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Felipe of Spain. The ob-

jective of the award is to emphasise the importance of

public participation in solving Europe's environmental prob-

lems and public involvement in the move towards sustain-

able development across the continent. All European coun-

tries are each year invited to participate.

ment, Ms. Ritt Bjerregaard, in Copenhagen June 3 1999.
