ADS expands reach in Canadian Maritime
provinces
Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc
(ADS) has opened a distribution site
in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.
The stocking yard increases the local
availability of the company’s products
in and around New Brunswick, Prince
Edward Island and Nova Scotia. Supply
for the yard comes from the company’s
manufacturing plants, including
Heidelberg, Ontario, and St Germain,
Quebec.
ADS, founded in 1966, manufactures
corrugated plastic pipe, and its products
are found in farms, sports stadiums, golf
courses, highways, building complexes,
housing developments, industrial parks,
airports and the infrastructure of cities
and towns throughout Canada and the
world. The new Moncton yard is part of
the company’s on-going multi-million
dollar capital investment programme
announced in 2011 to add pipe
production and inventory capacity.
ADS has a network of 57 manufacturing
locations worldwide, and 29 stocking
service yards.
“Moncton is critical to this area because
it is at the geographic centre of the
Maritime Provinces, and is even called
‘Hub City’,” said Ewout Leeuwenburg,
ADS vice president of international
operations.
“We will make full use of its excellent
transportation system including the rail
network. Demand for our products to
control storm water continues to rapidly
increase, and ADS is keeping pace
by establishing local manufacturing
and distribution centres in Canada.
In January, for example, we opened
a yard in Morrisburg to add service
and supply specifically to the Ontario
area.”
In addition to its flagship N-12
®
pipe,
and HP sanitary and storm pipe, ADS
offers a complete line of fittings and
other accessories including StormTech
®
storm water chambers, Nyloplast
®
drainage structures, Inserta Tee
®
, storm
water treatment units and various
geotextiles.

Plastic pipe weld logging
Since 1979, Ritmo SpA has played
an important role in the welding of
HDPE and other plastic pipes, with
new ideas and products designed and
manufactured in Italy. The company
recently introduced the My Log data
logging system.
My Log controls and registers the entire
welding process. Its reports certify that
welding has been performed according
to the parameters set.
The data gathered throughout the
welding cycles is saved in an internal
memory, and may be downloaded and
handled on a PC by means of specific
software.
My Log is supplied in a protective case,
and has a wide graphic display and an
intuitive control panel designed
for ease of use. My Log can be
used with many machines – not
only those produced by Ritmo –
so it may be considered an ‘open
system’.
In the butt welding field, from
medium to large ODs, Ritmo has
invested in the concept of user-
friendliness: highly technological
machines that handle the entire
cycle by means of an intuitive
control panel; with software,
entirely developed by Ritmo
engineers, that assures smooth
and faultless welding.
