mission Decision 96/362/EC (of 11
June 1996) as far as bovine semen is
concerned by removing the prohibition
on the importation of that product from
the United Kingdom.

Broadcasting (Receiving Licences)
(Amendment) Regulations 1996 (SI
No. 249 of 1996)
These Regulations increase the
monochrome television licence fee
from £44 to £52 and the colour licence
fee from £62 to £70. They also provide
for a revised rate of rebate where a
monochrome licence is surrendered in
certain circumstances. The Regulations
came into operation on 1 September
1996.

Statistics (Business Accounts) Order
1996 (SI No. 92 of 1996)
This Order, which applies to all under:–
takings, bther than public authorities,
prescribes the information which shall
be provided to the Central Statistics
Office by businesses. The information,
which is to be supplied pursuant to
surveys at intervals of not more than
three months includes particulars of–
trading names, the type of activity
carried on; the accounting period; the
turnover; the persons employed and
their earnings; stocks and work in
progress; debts and credits owed by
and to the undertaking; and capital
assets of the undertaking. The Order
came into operation on 1 April 1996
and shall expire on 31 December 2000.

CONSUMER
Maximum Prices (Magazines) Order
1996 (SI No. 207 of 1996)
This Order provides that, where a
magazine with a sterling price is not
priced on its cover by the publisher in
Irish pounds, its maximum retail price
shall be the equivalent in Irish pounds
of the sterling price at the time that the
magazine is put into circulation in the
State increased by five per cent. and,
where appropriate, the applicable rate
of VAT. The Order came into operation
on 17 luly 1996.

These Regulations supplement the
cldvertising provisions of the Consumer
Credit Act 1995.
