HR practices
All employees with management
responsibilities are required to actively
and decidedly promote a leadership
culture in line with the values of UPM
and with the spirit of this Code of
Conduct.
UPM strives to provide a safe wor-
king environment and to motivate all
employees. All employees are required
to carry out their work without jeopar-
dising safety in the workplace.
The company encourages its em-
ployees to work for their own personal
and professional development and
growth.
UPM is committed to treating all
employees fairly, impartially and equi-
tably.
UPM maintains a commitment to
equal opportunities in all of its practi-
ces, rules and regulations relating to its
staff.
Environmental Practices
UPM’s environmental management
is based on internally defined objecti-
ves, the measurement of their degree
of implementation and the develop-
ment and application of good practices
throughout the supply chain.
UPM continually measures and
evaluates the direct and indirect envi-
ronmental impacts and loads of its
operations and strives to systematica-
lly manage these in accordance with
the principle of continuous improve-
ment. The impacts and environmental
loads relating to the life cycle of the
products come from the acquisition of
raw materials, the production and dis-
tribution of products and their reco-
very and disposal. UPM evaluates its
suppliers systematically and periodica-
lly, including from the point of view of
social and environmental responsibili-
ty.
