fresh from a recent launch in Johannes-
burg. Daimler was once again the centre
piece with their array of vehicles, especially
having a large Western Star on display as a
big attraction.
MB Plant is making a strong drive in the
market with the New Holland equipment
range exhibited at Nampo for the first time.
The well established brands like Caterpillar
and Bell were very much in evidence and
their presence at Nampo is always very
much part of the show. Volvo and their sister
brand, SDLG, combined to cater for require-
ments that give customers various econom-
ic options across a wide spectrum. Wacker
Neuson proved they have a machine for any
application and with their display stretched
over a wide area well illustrated the point.
Year after year the importance of Nampo be-
comes more evident, as a show for manufac-
turers to access a somewhat exclusive agri-
cultural market which is after all the backbone
of our economy. There are few opportunities
throughout the year to showcase products in
this type of arena so Nampo remains the big-
gest and most successful one.
