Liver pate

2

For liver pate inoculated with

L.monocytogenes

(unpaired enrichments), for the LMX method there were 11 confirmed positives at the

3

low level and 15 confirmed positives at the high level. For the MFHPB30 reference method there were 10 confirmed positives at the

4

low level and 12 confirmed positives at the high level. All uninoculated samples were negative with both methods. There were no

5

false positives for the VIDAS method for uninoculated samples. There was no significant difference between the LMX method and

6

the reference method using unpaired Chi-square test. (Table 13)

8

Hot dogs

9

For hot dogs inoculated with

L.monocytogenes

(unpaired enrichments), for the LMX method there were 10 confirmed positives at the

10

low level and 20 confirmed positives at the high level. For the MFHPB30 reference method there were 8 confirmed positives at the

11

low level and 13 confirmed positives at the high level. All uninoculated samples were negative with both methods. There were no

12

false positives for the VIDAS method for uninoculated samples. Confirmation using OAA or ChromID Lmono media showed exact

13

agreement with traditional media. There was a significant difference between the LMX method and the reference method at the high

14

level inoculation (Chi-square= 8.27) for hot dogs favoring the VIDAS LMX. (Table 13)

15

16

Raw fermented sausage

17

For sausage inoculated with

L.monocytogenes

(unpaired enrichments) for the LMX method there were 9 confirmed positives at the

18

low level and 11 presumptive positives versus 12 confirmed positives at the high level, resulting in one false negative result for LMX.

19

For the MFHPB30 reference method there were 10 confirmed positives at both the low level and high level. All uninoculated samples

20

were negative with both methods. There were no false positives for the VIDAS method for uninoculated samples. Confirmation using

21

OAA or ChromID Lmono media showed exact agreement with traditional media. There was no significant difference between the

22

LMX method and the reference method using unpaired Chi-square test. (Table 13)

24

Deli turkey

25

For deli turkey inoculated with

L.monocytogenes

(unpaired enrichments), for the LMX method there were 15 confirmed positives at

26

the low level and 15 confirmed positives at the high level. For the MFHPB30 reference method there were 15 confirmed positives at

27

the low level and 17 confirmed positives at the high level. All uninoculated samples were negative with both methods. There were no

28

false positives for the VIDAS method for uninoculated samples. Confirmation using OAA or ChromID Lmono media showed exact

29

agreement with traditional media. There was no significant difference between the LMX method and the reference method using

30

unpaired Chi-square test. (Table 13)

Deli ham

34

For deli ham inoculated with

L.monocytogenes

(unpaired enrichments), for the LMX method there were 10 confirmed positives at the

35

low level and 16 confirmed positives at the high level. For the MFHPB30 reference method there were 13 confirmed positives at the

36

low level and 18 confirmed positives at the high level. All uninoculated samples were negative with both methods. There were no
