Wire & Cable ASIA – September/October 2007
13
Nextrom Oy, Finland, and Rosendahl
Maschinen GmbH, Austria, found wire
Russia 2007 to be a successful event,
with many visitors to the companies’
booth, including key people from
Russia and CIS countries.
Nextrom & Rosendahl have identified
a clear increase in demand for fibre
in Russia and in the CIS countries,
with continuous discussions on
existing and future projects taking
place during the wire show.
The extended market presence for
Nextrom & Rosendahl in Europe has
made Russia one of their key markets,
and an object for large investments.
Several contracts were signed,
confirming the companies’ decision
to establish a Russian headquarters.

www.rosendahlaustria.comGlobal warming certainly seemed to have arrived sooner than expected in
Moscow as temperatures rose for wire Russia, reaching 38˚C!
However, the show, held between 28
th
and 31
st
May 2007, was also hot in other ways
– with many exhibitors experiencing busy periods throughout the four-day show.
Preliminary data provided by the organisers, Messe Düsseldorf, estimate the total
number of visitors at wire Russia and Tube Russia 2007 at 13,500 – an increase
of more than 12% from 2005.
Whilst the overall number of exhibitors at wire Russia 2007 was similar to 2005 it
is interesting to note that there has been a reduction in the quantity of Russian
ones but an increase in international exhibitors of nearly 4%, with organisations
from 29 countries, including national groups from Austria, France, Germany, Italy,
UK, USA and Spain.
The reduction in local exhibitors is probably largely due to the consolidation that
has been taking place in the Russian industry.
