THE PRESIDENT.
The Council elected, on the 8th December,
Mr. Daniel J. Reilly, of Trim, to be President
of the Society for the ensuing twelve months.
The newly-elected President was admitted
in Michaelmas Sittings,
1904. He was
elected a member of the Council in 1924, and
was a Vice-President of
the Society for
1929-30.
THE VICE-PRESIDENTS.
The Council has elected Mr. Patrick R.
Boyd of Dublin, and Mr. John R. Brennan
of Wexford, to be Vice-Presidents of the
Society for the ensuing twelve months.
OBITUARY.
MR. ROBERT WALLACE, Solicitor, died on
the 2nd October, 1938, at his residence,
Ardlui, 42 Adelaide Park, Belfast.
Mr. Wallace served his apprenticeship
with
the
late Sir Alexander McDowell,
Belfast, was admitted in Trinity Sittings,
1911, and practised at Riddel's Buildings,
Donegall Place, Belfast.
MR. JOHN J. GOULDING, Solicitor, died on
the 4th October, 1938, at his residence,
61 Morehampton Road, Dublin.
Mr. Goulding served his apprenticeship
with the late Mr. J. J. Meldon, Dublin, was
admitted
in Trinity Sittings,
1919,
and
practised as a member of the firm of Meldon
& Co., at 71 Dame Street, Dublin.
MR. SAMUEL FRYAR, Solicitor, died on
the 4th October, 1938, at his residence,
Dunseverkin, Banbridge.
Mr. Fryar was admitted in Hilary Sittings,
1888, and practised as a member of the firm
of Fryar & Gordon, at Banbridge and
Dromore, Co. Down.
MR. HENRY M. A. MURPHY, Solicitor, died
on the llth October, 1938, at Tuam, Co.
Galway.
Mr. Murphy was admitted
in Trinity
Sittings, 1890, and practised at Galway up
to 1911.
MR. HUGH W. RAINEY, Solicitor, died on
the 4th November, 1938, at Dublin.
Mr. Rainey
served his
apprenticeship
with the late Mr. John K. Currie, Ballymena,
was admitted in Michaelmas Sittings, 1899,
and practised at 23 Ely Place, Dublin.
MR. WILLIAM J. IRWIN, Solicitor, died on
the 18th November, 1938, at 2 Howard
Terrace, Dungannon.
Mr. Irwin was admitted in Hilary Sittings,
1891, and practised as a member of the firm
of W. J. Irwin and Son, at Dungannon.
LEGAL PRACTITIONERS
(QUALIFICATION) ACT, 1929.
A " First" Examination in Irish and a
" .Second" Examination in Irish will be
held on Friday and Saturday, the 10th and
llth days of February, 1939. Notices of
intention to attend either of the above-
mentioned examinations should be lodged
